Esther Weiss, 86, of Faulkton died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at Faulkton Area Medical Center.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at Orient Lutheran Church with the Rev. Rob Nedbalek officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Luce Funeral Home in Faulkton with a 7 p.m. prayer service.
Esther Eleanor Hagen was born Sept. 12, 1922, to John and Anna (Haberling) Hagen at Orient. She was confirmed in 1937 and was a lifetime member of Orient Lutheran Church. She graduated from Orient High School and attended Remily’s Beauty School in Aberdeen.
She married Roy Weiss in 1941. She started work as a nurse’s aide at Faulk County Memorial Hospital in 1966. She also worked as a home health aide until 1987 and then again at the Faulk County Hospital. After retiring, she spent winters with her children in New Mexico and California.
They lived on the farm until retiring in 1980 when they moved into Faulkton. She enjoyed fixing hair for friends and family.
She is survived by four children: Michael (Betty), Barbara (Gary) Agenbroad, Daniel (Theresa) and Mark; numerous grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; six siblings: Olga Aiken, Minnie Simmons, Mary Bowar, Oscar, Edward and Annette Hagen; a son, Richard; and a grandson.
