The top two drivers in the WISSOTA late model point standings at Dakota State Fair Speedway battled for the main event victory on Saturday.

Chad Becker of Aberdeen was able to widen his lead in the standings by claiming the win, with Curt Gelling of Aberdeen finishing second.

Chad Chenoweth of Huron was third in the main event, followed by Lorin Johnson of Miller and Kent Arment of Aberdeen.

Posting late model heat victories on Saturday were Brian Diede of Huron and Jordan Heiman of Sioux Falls.

Chad Williamson of Watertown prevented Lorin Johnson of Miller from recording the same scenario in the Midwest modified main event.

Williamson won the feature race, with Johnson — the division’s current points leader — finishing second.

Kevin Bliese of Aberdeen was third, followed by Corey Elward of Mitchell and Dave Brooker of Tulare.

Williamson and Elward were the heat race winners.

Arment was able to narrow his deficit in the modified point standings with a victory in the main event on Saturday.

Tailing Arment across the finish line was Chris Prussman of Brookings, who won the division’s lone heat race early in the evening. Jordan Foster of Henry was third, followed by Scott Bender of Aberdeen and Brent Urban of Watertown.

Joel Waba of Watertown, who is the current leader in the modified standings, was unable to finish the main event.

Two-time defending track champion Ross Dixon of Ramona continues his trek to a third-consecutive title with a victory Saturday in the super stock main event.

Finishing second to Dixon was Casey Hanson of Badger, with Dustin Arthur of Miller claiming third. Gary Brown, Jr. of Sioux Falls was fourth and Kip Myers of Ethan was fifth.

Brown and Myers won the super stock heat races.

Broc Stout of Winner collected the victory in the street stock main event.

Josh Tangen of Bruce was second, followed by Jordan Raterman of Mitchell, Tyler Lambert of Aberdeen and Doug Songer of Huron, who is points leader in the division.

Songer and Russ Phillips of Winner won the street stock heat races.

Racing will return to DSFS on Saturday, with the annual Fourth of July celebration.

The public fireworks display will follow the racing program.

Following Saturday’s races, the next scheduled event at the Huron oval will be the World of Outlaws Late Model Series Special scheduled for July 16.
