Volunteers to coordinate for city cleanup

Posted

Huron City Commissioner Drew Weinreis issued a press release regarding post-storm cleanup.

City crews continue to work on removing trees from city streets. Once that has completed, the focus will shift to removing large trees from the boulevards.

City crews will work Friday and resume work Monday, however, there is much more work that needs to be done.

Volunteers are needed to assist community members in need. If you or anyone you know is willing and able to assist, please contact Sara Waldner at 605-354-7918 via text, preferably, with how many people can volunteer and how you can assist.

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, reach out to Sara at the above number, give the address and what assistance is needed along with your contact information.

Volunteers will be meeting at 6 p.m. in the Fair City parking lot to coordinate. Volunteers may be called upon to pick up tree limbs and branches. Those who have chain saws, trailers, or other means of hauling are also a need.

Commissioner Weinreis closed the release by stating, “let’s continue to work together to help our neighbors and the community we live in.”
