HURON — Police have arrested 48-year-old Jeffery Jacobson on grand theft charges after investigating a stolen vehicle case.
At about 6 p.m. Tuesday, police took a stolen vehicle report from the 100 block of Wisconsin Avenue Southwest. The vehicle was recovered at about 10:30 p.m. that night.
Public Information Officer Cory Borg said on Wednesday morning police officers learned the vehicle was involved in a gas drive off in Jerauld County. Authorities in Jerauld County released a photo that was posted on Facebook to help in identifying the suspect in the grand theft case as well as the gas drive off.
With information from Huron police officers and the public, the male was identified as Jacobson, a Huron resident. Officers found him in Huron. He was also arrested on a warrant out of Codington County.
