CAVOUR — A barn and a number of sheep inside were destroyed by fire early Monday morning southeast of Cavour, firefighters said.
Cavour firefighters were dispatched to the scene six miles south and two and a half miles east of town at 4:44 a.m. When they arrived, the roof of the barn had collapsed, firefighter Jeff Gogolin said.
The farm is owned by Dr. Bruce Wintle.
The building was about 40-by-60 feet in size. Reports indicated there were about 20 lambs and sheep in the barn at the time.
The cause of the fire is not known.
