HURON — Make plans to attend the Independence Day Celebration in Huron on Friday, July 4.
The festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. with the parade. This year’s theme is Let Freedom Ring! The parade starts at 9th Street and Dakota Avenue, continues north to 3rd Street, then west to Illinois.
Immediately following the parade, a Pork Loin BBQ is scheduled in Campbell Park.
Pork loin sandwiches, baked beans, chips and a drink are available for $6 along with musical entertainment from the Huron Municipal Band in the band shell.
The park will also feature a few flea market vendors as well as a Farmers Market.
That evening, there will be a fireworks display starting at 10 p.m. over Ravine Lake. Patriotic music will be aired on “Tiger 95” 95.3 FM or 1340 AM KIJV during the show.
Stock car racing will take place on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Dakota State Fair Speedway with a grand finale Fireworks Show sponsored by Huron Sertoma Club and the Huron Elks Lodge.
