Bonnie Jean Gardner, 83, of Miller and formerly of Pierre died Tuesday, July 27, 2010.
Her funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Lutheran Memorial Church in Pierre with the Rev. Don Block officiating. Interment will follow in Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Visitation will be two hours before the service.
Bonnie Jean Larson was born July 11, 1927, at Huron to Toma and Olga (Foshiem) Larson.
On March 3, 1948, she married Gerald Gardner at Minneapolis. They lived in Huron, Boulder, Colo., and in 1953 they moved to Pierre. On Feb. 3 she moved into the Miller Manor.
She was employed at the state museum for 23 years. She was a member of the S.D. Historical Society, American Legion Auxiliary, 40 et Eight, VFW Auxiliary and Lutheran Memorial Church. She volunteered for hospice and hospital auxiliary.
She is survived by seven children, Don (Lynnda) of Arvada, Colo., Judy (Monte) Farnsworth of Pierre, Tom of Littleton, Colo., Susan Gregory of Pierre, Jan (Casey) Deuter of Ree Heights, Bill (Jessie) of Littleton and Jacque (Paul) Williams of Gillette, Wyo.; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Gardner of Sioux Falls and George McNamara of Milwaukee, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister, Annabelle Wright.
