MILLER — Ella Hanson, 90, of Miller and formerly of Huron, died Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center in Miller.
The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Huron. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a 7 p.m. prayer service or one hour prior to the service. Visit welterfuneralhome.com.
Ella Gutjahr was born Feb. 13, 1922, at Leola to Christian and Christina (Lechner) Gutjahr. She received her education in Leola.
On Sept. 21, 1939, she married Edwin Jones. In 1948 they moved to Huron and she went to work for O.P. Skaggs Market for 37 years. On April 21, 1962, she married Siver Hanson at Huron. After retiring, they wintered in Arizona. She loved bowling, dancing and playing cards.
She is survived by a son, Jerry (Sharalyn) Jones of Wessington; three stepchildren, Lonna (Dale) Lempke of Moorhead, Minn., Jim (Mickey) Hanson of Denver and Bernie Hanson of Huron; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Siver, in 1985; a daughter, Carol Ann (Allen) Bell; and two sisters, Violet (Lee) Crist and Alvina (Leonard) Albrecht.
