CAVOUR — Jan Wicks, 66, of Cavour, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at home.
The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Welter Funeral Home with burial in Richland Cemetery at Carpenter. Visitation with the family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home or one hour prior to the service. Visit welterfuneralhome.com.
Jan Williams was born to DeWitt and Jessie (Morgan) Williams Aug. 2, 1946, at Arkansas City, Kan. She graduated from Winfield High School and earned a business degree at college. She owned and operated the Cabaret Restaurant and a consignment store in Carthage and the Iroquois Steakhouse for a time.
She married Larry Wicks June 8, 2000, at Mitchell. They lived in Cavour and she became the business manager for the family business, Wicks Auction. She enjoyed going to auctions and doing crafts.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Rebecca Plascencia and Jennifer Russell, both of Cavour; six stepchildren, Lisa Wicks, Vaughn (Valerie), Charleen (Fred) Sylaart, Justin, Blaine and Laurel Wicks; many grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Grace) of Texas; and a sister, Trudy (Allen) Anderson of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Linda Williams.
