HURON — May Foote, 87, of Huron and formerly of Yale, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at SunQuest Healthcare Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Welter Funeral Home with burial in LeSeuer Cemetery, rural Bancroft. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Visit welterfuneralhome.com.
May Sharp was born to James and Pearl (Cozad) Sharp Dec. 28, 1924, at Haigler, Neb. She graduated from Haigler High School in 1942. During World War II she worked in the defense plant in Denver.
She moved to Omaha, Neb., and worked for C.A. Swanson Foods, Cudahy and Swift Meat Packing Plants, and as a concessionaire in the Outdoor Amusement Business for 25 years. She moved to Freemont, Neb., and worked for the Campbell Soup Company and as the lead cook at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County until her retirement. She married Donald Foote and they moved to Yale in 1985.
She is survived by a brother, Lester of Mountain View, Mo.; two brothers-in-law, Cecil (Jean) Foote of Inland, Neb., and Buck Pruitt of Durango, Colo.; a sister-in-law, Darlene Sharp of Haviland, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded on death by her husband; four brothers, Thomas, Henry and twins, Jean and James; and two sisters, Iona and Katie.
