REDFIELD — Wynelle “Mac” Christensen, 88, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at First Congregational UCC Church in Redfield with the Rev. Tim Fugman officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery at Redfield. Wynelle McKibben was born Jan. 12, 1924, to Alfred and Nannie (Williams) McKibben at Pavo, Ga. She built airplanes during World War II at Jacksonville, Fla.
She married Garfield Christensen July 15, 1946, at Aberdeen. They farmed near Northville until 1947, then near Athol until his death. She was a member of the Athol and Redfield Congregational churches. She enjoyed gardening and baking.
She is survived by five children, Beverly (George) Van Houten of Bloomington, Minn., Betty (Lynn) Julian of Phoenix, Patsy Herrmann of Black Hawk, Douglas (Sue) of Ashton and Russell (Debbie) of Athol; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mert Futch of Jacksonville and Sallie Chadwick of Moultrie, Ga.; and a brother, Watson of Fayeville, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000; two sisters, Edna Francis and Margaret Ricca; and three brothers, Alton, Orvan and Austin.
