HURON Gregory Yapp, 63, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Huron Regional Medical Center.

The funeral will be at noon Friday at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma, Wis. Burial will be at Buffalo City, Wis. Visitation with the family present will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Kuhler Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Terry Anderson officiating.

Gregory Yapp was born Dec. 1, 1949, to Robert and Carol (Lankey) Yapp at Madison, Wis. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He married Linda Salwey June 21, 1975, at Waumandee, Wis. He was a resource conservationist for the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service, retiring Dec. 31, 2010. They lived in Sioux Falls, White River, Miller, Howard and Herreid. He was a volunteer firefighter in Herreid for 13 years. He was a board member for the M-O Federal Credit Union and enjoyed hunting, golfing and trimming trees on the family farm.

He is survived by his wife; four children, Alanna (Kurt Joy) Seidel of Miller, Brenda (Mike) Harvey of Spearfish, Christina (Chad Bult) Yapp of Sioux Falls and Jason of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren; his mother of Alma, Wis.; two brothers, Steve (Linda) of West Bend, Wis., and Douglas (Joyce Russell) of Independence, Wis.; and a sister, Michelle Egland of Lewiston, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his father and parents-in-law, Lloyd and Donna Salwey.
