HURON — Leah Ochsner, 101, of Huron, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Welter Funeral Home with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Visit welterfuneralhome.com.
Leah Neuharth was born to Jacob and Christine Neuharth Jan. 6, 1911, at Menno. She attended school through the eighth grade.
On July 4, 1936, she married Albert Ochsner at Alpena. They moved to Huron where she was a homemaker and worked part time for Geyerman’s. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge.
She is survived by a son, Leonard of Huron; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Ochsner of Boston; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 30, 2001; a son, Kenneth; six sisters, Martha Fuehrer, Helen Schnabel, Louise Lehr, Pauline Burrill, Lydia Ochsner and Adeline Hamel; and two brothers, Gideon and Emil.
