HURON — Doris Schroeder, 85, of Huron, died Wednesday at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour before the service on Monday at the church. Funeral arrangements were announced by Welter Funeral Home in Huron. Visit welterfuneralhome.com.
Doris Lillian Schroeder was born May 14, 1927, to Edward and Louise (Neuharth) Lehr in Alpena. She went to a Beadle County country school through eighth grade. She worked for a time at St. John’s Hospital and then from 1950 to 1952 at Armour Meat Packing Plant. In later years, she worked at the Tschetter & Hohm Clinic.
On Aug. 23, 1952, she married Herman J. Schroeder in Huron. They lived on the farm south of Huron until 1978, when they moved into town.
She is survived by sisters-in-law, Betty Schroeder, Marie Berquist and Esther (Alvin) Halbur, all of Huron; nieces, nephews and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herman in 1988; her three sons, Rodney Lee, Ronald Dean and Richie Eugene Schroeder; an infant brother; and an infant sister.For the complete article see the 01-06-2013 issue.
