Lila Jones, 68, of Huron

HURON — Lila Jones, 68, of Huron, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at home.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, March 18th, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Holland officiating.

Lila was born May 23, 1944, at Miller, S.D., to Wilbur and Evelyn (Allgaier) Jones. 

She graduated from Miller High School in 1962. She graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute with a LPN degree. She later graduated from Aberdeen School of Commerce. 

She worked at St. John’s Hospital, Huron, as a LPN. She worked at the Beadle County CHN Office for 23 years, retiring in 2008. 

Lila was most proud of her family. She loved crocheting, reading, and being with and cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events.

Grateful for sharing Lila’s life are her two daughters, Robin (Tom) McCool-Deneke of Rapid City; and Tara (Jeff) McCormick of Mitchell; her grandchildren, Allyx, LexyJo and Hunter Deneke and Nathan, Carter and Allison McCormick; one sister, LaRita Monroe, of Hamilton, MT; and one brother, Larry (Paula) Jones of Yankton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, LeRoy.
