CUSTER — Harold E. Andresen, 87, of Custer, and formerly of Wolsey., died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at the Custer Regional Senior Care.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Black Hills National Cemetery, with Chaplain Micah Covington officiating. Military honors will be given by the Sturgis Veteran Honor Guard and the South Dakota Army National Guard.
The family prefers memorials be made to the Hospice of the Hills, 224 Elk St., Rapid City, S.D. 57701.
Harold E. Andresen was born Aug. 6, 1945, in Wolsey. He entered the Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Army of Occupation Medal Germany and the Victory Medal. He then enlisted in the Naval Reserves and was given an honorable discharge certificate in 1952.
He is survived by two sons, Craig Andresen of Oregon, and Harold Andresen Jr. of Orange County, Calif.; a daughter, Lee Ann Nachtschim of Menafee, Calif.; one brother, Robert Andresen of Stockton, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leotha Andresen; a son, John S. Andresen; his parents; four brothers and a sister.
