WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Dorothy Erickson, 90, of Wessington Springs, died Monday morning, April 8, at the Methodist Manor in Tulsa, Okla. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs with the Rev. John Paulson officiating. Burial will be in Solberg Cemetery, rural Lane. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 at the Basham Funeral Home with the family present at that time.
Dorothy Lillehaug Erickson was born on Oct. 12, 1922, on the family farm south of Lane to Simon and Ellen (Anderson) Lillehaug. She graduated from high school in 1940.
She worked in Sioux Falls at the Montgomery Ward Store and Newberry’s Dime Store.
On Oct. 27, 1941, she married Lloyd Erickson. They celebrated 67 years of marriage together.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery work, making quilts and cooking.
She was baptized, confirmed and married in the Solberg Lutheran Church where she also taught Sunday school.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Audrey Higgins and De Loris Hardesty, an infant son, and a nephew.
