HIGHMORE Alvina Bauer, 101, of Highmore, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at the Highmore Health, Highmore.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Highmore with the Rev. David Peterson officiating. Burial will follow at the Highmore Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 7 p.m. prayer service, all at the church.
Alvina Bauer was born March 17, 1912, at Stanford, to Phillip and Emelia (Bitterman) Rothenberger. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior in 1955.
On March 20, 1932, she married Edward Ed Bauer in Harrold. She and Ed traveled for many years ministering, sharing the Gospel and praying for the sick.
She is survived by her sons, Delbert (Joyce) of Pierre and Marty (Anne) of Highmore; sister, Martha Vance of Pierre; sister-in-law: Adeline Rothenberger of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ed; son, Rollie; sister, Christine Gramm; brothers, John Rothenberger and Albert Rothenberger, and grandchild; Kristi Hevier.
