ASHTON — Paul Henry Schilling, 51, of Ashton, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
His funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. The Rev. Stephen Perry will officiate. Military rites will be performed at the church after the service. After a time for lunch and fellowship, the burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.
Paul Henry Schilling was born Jan. 26, 1962, in Redfield, to Harry and Alma (Hulett) Schilling. He graduated from Redfield High School in 1980. He served in the army from 1980 to 2000. He served in the Gulf War and was stationed in Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Bosnia, Turkey and Germany.
He married Michelle Schlepp on May 29, 1990, in Aberdeen, four days after they met. They had their church wedding on May 26, 1991, at the United Methodist Church in Redfield. He was a direct care provider at South Dakota Developmental Center in Redfield for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughter, Samantha, of Ashton; parents, Harry and Alma Schilling, of Redfield; his twin brother, Henry (Cynthia) Schilling of McComb, Miss.; and many nieces and nephews.
