MILLER — Dorothy Hall, 94, of Miller, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society of Miller.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the First United Methodist Church, Miller with the Rev. Mark Johnsen officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, Orient. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a 7 p.m. prayer service, all at Reck Funeral Home, Miller.
Dorothy Kay Kopecky was born in rural Ontario Township of Hand County on April 29, 1919, to John and Edith (Weisner) Kopecky.
On Feb. 28, 1940, she married Clarence Hall at the Presbyterian Church in Miller. They farmed on the Hall homestead until 1973. From 1975 to 1992 she and her husband were managers of the Coral Lanes bowling alley.
She enjoyed trying new recipes and sharing her Bohemian dishes. She was active with the neighborhood ladies club, extension work and 4-H work. She was a member of the Orient Methodist Church and enjoyed being a part of the Miller UMW.
She enjoyed animals, especially puppies, playing cards and having coffee.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Carolyn) Hall of Orient; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Hall.
