HURON — Sally Fox, age 100, died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at the SunQuest Health Care Center.
Her graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Memorial Park Cemetery at Sioux City, Iowa, with Rev. Marion Cain, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kuhler Funeral Home. Visit www.kuhlerfuneralhome.com.
Sally was born Oct. 24, 1912, to Elmer and Lillian (Bragg) Vincent, near Bear Grove, Iowa. The family moved to Sioux City, Iowa, in 1918, where she lived most of her life. She was educated in the Sioux City school system, graduating from Central High School (The Castle on the Hill) in June of 1930.
On Oct. 24, 1928, Sally married Clinton Fox at South Sioux City, Nebraska. There were two sons born to this union.
Sally was a 60-plus year member of Morningside Rose Croix Chapter No. 502 Order of the Eastern Star. While involved in Eastern Star, she served in all the chairs and was worthy matron. She was a member of Westlawn Presbyterian Church in Sioux City. Sally moved to Huron in October 1998. While here, she attended First Baptist Church. During her years of employment, Sally worked for various restaurants in Sioux City.
Sally liked to garden and raise African Violets. Sally also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and made many quilts to give away. In earlier years she was active in PTA, Cub Scouts and very active in her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton in 1995; three brothers, Kenneth, Keith and Ross; and one sister, Beatrice.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her two sons, Vincent Fox of Huron and Val (Adelle) Fox of Jefferson; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.
