MILLER — Lenore Venjohn, 101, of Miller, died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital, Miller.
Burial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Miller with the Revs. Tom Clement and Chester Murtha officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery, Miller. Rosary service will be at 6:30 p.m., and scripture service will be at 7 p.m. today, all at the church.
Lenore Cecelia Clement was born on March 28, 1912, to Hubert John and Elizabeth Mary (Klausing) Clement in Delphos, Ohio. She graduated from Miller High School in 1932.
On Feb. 28, 1933, she married John Venjohn at St. Liborious Church, Polo.
She wrote the “Polo News” for the Miller Press and cooked for the Polo School children each Thursday.
She was a Catholic Daughter for more than 70 years.
She is survived by her four daughters, Betty Bowar of Lafayette, Colo., Vonnie (Chuck) Bowar of Faulkton, Joyce Venjohn of Sherwood, Ore., and Sharon (Bob) Gustafson of Rapid City; three sons, Jerome (Janet) Venjohn of Lincoln, Calif.; Vern (Kay) Venjohn of Lakeland, Fla.; Rick (Pam) Venjohn of Eagan, Minn.; one brother, Hubert (Betty) Clement, Miller; two sisters-in-law, Betty Clement, Miller; Delores Clement, Orient;19 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, more than 14 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John; her sister, Valeta; six brothers, Bernard, Richard, Ernest, John, Paul, Louis; two grandchildren; and two sons-in- law, Larry Brock and Joe Bowar.
