FAULKTON — Gladine P. Bowar, 92, of Faulkton, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at the Faulkton Healthcare Center.
Burial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Saint Thomas Catholic Church, Faulkton, with the Rev. John Helmueller officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Thomas Cemetery, Faulkton. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday with a 7 p.m. wake service at the church.
Gladine Pearl “Cindy” Wright was born Jan. 11, 1922, at the family home in Vayland to Oliver Carl and Lena (Lorang) Wright. She graduated from Miller High School in 1939. She worked at the ASCS – FSA office following graduation.
She married Herbert L. Bowar on Nov. 14, 1942. They farmed together and were members of Saint Thomas Catholic Church. She was a charter member of Saint Monica’s Court of the Catholic Daughters of America and held many offices, including vice-regent, regent and district deputy. She was also a member of the Altar Society Band and taught the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine to children at church. She later worked at Dale’s Pharmacy.
She was an award-winning artist and enjoyed crafts and music.
She is survived by four children, Linda (Bernard) Vogel, Tom (Mary) Bowar, Jan (Dale) Miller, and Jerry (Sandy) Bowar; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Cleone Andersen, of Huntington Beach, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb.
