FULTON — Sue Bannwarth, 64, of Fulton, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at her home due to a long illness.
Burial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell with burial at the Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Holy Family Catholic Church with a scripture service, beginning at 7 p.m.
Susanna Kay Bannwarth daughter of Joe and Freda (Kolb) Brtna on Aug. 15, 1949, in Chamberlain. She attended country schools South of Kimball and graduated from Kimball High school in 1967. She received her X-Ray Tech degree from the Methodist Hospital School of Radiological Technology in 1969. She then worked in Wisconsin and at the Mitchell Clinic.
She married James Bannwarth on March 6, 1971, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell.
She enjoyed canning, embroidery, cooking, baking and going to craft shows. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
She is survived by her husband, James; her children, Dan (Jill), Bob (Stephanie), Tom (Marti), and Duane (Stacey) Bannwarth, all of Mitchell, Mike (Jen) of Crooks and Joe (Kim) of Gretna, Neb.; nine grandchildren; brothers, Joe (Jan) Brtna of Mitchell and Ellison (Donna) of Sioux Falls and many nieces,nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Haley Bannwarth, and sister-in-law Janice Brtna.
The family of Sue Bannwarth will be directing memorials to her favorite charities.
The Will Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
