Teener tourney in town: No one pulls ahead after first day of tournament

HURON -- After Day 1 of the Teener Region Tournament being held at Klock Field only Brookings and Sioux Falls remain unbeaten going into Day 2 today.
Of the five teams playing round-robin in the tournament, Huron, Brookings and Aberdeen all played a pair of games on the opening day with Brookings and Aberdeen each going 1-1 while Huron was 0-1.

Titlewinners decided at SDGA Junior Championships

HURON -- The final four champions were crowned during the second and final day of the South Dakota Golf Association's Junior Championships on Tuesday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
Max Donohue of Sioux Falls used a 67 through the final 18 holes of play to win his third consecutive title in the boys' division for ages 16-18 in come-from-behind fashion.

Huron teeners host region tourney beginning today

HURON -- Huron Signature Plus will be the host team for the Region Teener Baseball Tournament, which begins today at Klock Field.
Huron will open the three-day event with a game at noon today against Aberdeen.

Junior golfers begin play in SDGA event

HURON -- A total of 138 golfers teed off as part of the South Dakota Golf Association Junior Championships on Monday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
Champions were crowned for boys and girls in the 11-and-under division as well as the divisions for ages 12-13 on Monday.

HURON -- Broadland Creek Golf Course will host a pair of South Dakota Golf Association events starting today with the Adult-Junior Championship.

Devyn Gortmaker and Michael Winsell were destined to be dart players. Both their fathers, Rod Gortmaker and Les Winsell, have been long time league players in the Wednesday night Miller Dart League sponsored by Manford Music.
