Yankton holds on for win against Tigers

YANKTON -- After trailing by as many as nine points, the Huron girls' basketball team was looking to rally for a win in its second consecutive game on Tuesday.

MILLER -- Sunshine Bible Academy rallied in the second half for a 46-42 victory against Faulkton Area on Tuesday.
The Trojans led 14-9 after the first quarter and 22-17 at the half, but SBA narrowed its deficit to just a point at 30-29 heading into the final quarter.

RAPID CITY -- Bailey Schoenfelder at 182 pounds was the highest of four Huron wrestlers to place during the 30-team Rapid City Invitational, which concluded Saturday.

MITCHELL -- Wessington Springs collected its first win of the season with a 36-23 win against Mitchell Christian.
The Lady Spartans led 14-6 after the opening quarter and 25-13 at the half. Despite scoring just two points in the third quarter, they outscored Mitchell Christian 9-1 in the final stanza for the victory.

HURON -- The Huron boys' basketball team stayed the course in the battle of the Tigers Friday evening and pulled away from Harrisburg for the 57-47 victory.

HITCHCOCK -- Highmore-Harrold opened the season with a 69-38 victory against Hitchcock-Tulare in a 281 Conference matchup.
McKenzee Zilverberg had 26 points to lead the Pirates, while Sydney Cowan had 20 points.
Rachel Houdek grabbed 13 rebounds to help Highmore-Harrold to a 34-18 advantage on the boards, and also had six steals.

DE SMET -- The De Smet Lady Bulldogs used scoring runsof 20-5 and 23-5 in the first and third quarters, respectively, enroute to a 67-34 victory on Thursday.
Rylie Osthus finished with a game-high 28 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs, who are now 1-1. Shannon Poppen also reached double figures with 18 points, while Regan Garry added nine points.

ARLINGTON -- The Watertown junior varsity wrestlers recorded wins against Kingsbury County and the Huron JV on Thursday in Arlington.
Watertown defeated Kingsbury County 60-18 and got past Huron JV 75-6.
