Area basketball players selected to play at Pentagon

SIOUX FALLS -- Seven area basketball players have been selected to play in the South Dakota Basketball Coaches Association/Sanford Pentagon All-Stars Games, which will be held April 12 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls.

ABERDEEN -- A jumper by Aaron Wenande with under three seconds left on the clock helped fifth-seeded Hanson to a 43-41 victory in overtime against No. 8-seeded Hitchcock-Tulare in the semifinals of the Class B State Boys' Basketball Tournament on Friday at the Barnett Center in Aberdeen.

Landon Gatzke and the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots saved their best for last Tuesday night at Wachs Arena.

HURON -- Edna Iverson, 81, of Huron, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, at the Huron Christian Church, in Huron, with Pastor Brad Korell, officiating. Burial will be in the Collins Cemetery at Willow Lake.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
