HURON -- James Valley Christian opened the postseason with a 5-0 victory against St. Thomas More on Tuesday in the Class A boys' quarterfinal 2014 SDHSAA State Soccer Championships at JVC field.

Pierre sweeps Huron teams to close regular season

HURON -- The inaugural school-sanctioned soccer season came to an end in Huron on Saturday, as Pierre swept a pair of games against the Tigers at Pepsi Fields Soccer Complex.

Wiegel earns All-ESD honors for Tigers

ABERDEEN -- Nolan Wiegel was the lone Huron golfer to earn All-Eastern South Dakota Conference honors on Saturday during the ESD Meet at Lee Park Golf Course.
Wiegel carded an 83 to finish in a six-way tie for the 14th spot. All-ESD honors went to the top 15 golfers and all ties for the 15th spot.

ALPENA -- The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks received a report of a deer that was shot approximately two miles northwest of Alpena.
The buck was shot when the season is closed, the night of Sunday, Sept. 21 or the morning of Sept. 22.

1994 Huron wrestling team to join HHS Athletic Hall of Fame

Former coach Ken Cihak said "one of the things he remembers about the 1994 state wrestling champs was their unselfish and positive attitude in the practice room."
