Huron upsets Aberdeen Central

ABERDEEN -- The Huron Tigers entered the District 3AA Tournament as the No. 4 seed but will be playing for a title after recording a 59-50 upset against top-seeded Aberdeen Central on Tuesday.

WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Wessington Springs outscored Iroquois 28-13 in the opening quarter en route to a 72-40 victory in the opening round of the District 6B Tournament on Monday.
Landon Oschner and John Witte each had 20 points to lead the Spartans, who improved to 6-15.

WOONSOCKET -- Sanborn Central-Woonsocket closed the regular season with a 73-36 victory against Wessington Springs in the a 281 Conference matchup on Friday.

Tigers drop District 3AA opener against Pierre

PIERRE -- Second-ranked Pierre, which is the top seed in District 3AA, pulled away in the second half for a 74-43 victory against the Huron Tigers in the postseason opener on Monday.
Pierre advances to host Aberdeen Central for the district championship on Thursday, while Huron will travel to face Mitchell in a consolation game on Thursday.

SIOUX FALLS -- The Huron Tigers were in jeopardy of having its streak of having at least one wrestler reach the finals at the Class A State Tournament at this year's event.
Bailey Schoenfelder stepped on the mat for his 182-pound semi-final match and made sure that streak continued on Saturday at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls.

Player registration for Little League today at Huron Mall: Both softball and baseball leagues are forming
