The Huron Post 7 baseball team fell 5-1 to Brookings Thursday afternoon at the Region 1A American Legion Baseball Tournament in Watertown.

Brookings jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning as a one-out double was followed by a one-out RBI-single.

They plated three more in the six inning as both a leadoff walk and a single that followed was followed by a triple scoring both runners.

A two-out single scored the third and final run of the inning.

Brookings got their final run in the seventh as leadoff triple scored.

Huron finally got on the scoreboard after a pair of doubles by Logan Kopfmann and Joey Swenson which scored Kopfmann.

Huron actually had a chance to rally after Dustin Hinker flied out when Kyle Kluseman walked. However, Huron stranded both runners to end the eighth inning and they went 1-2-3 in the ninth to close out the game.

They also had other chances including in the first inning as Brookings walked a couple of batters and when they had two runners on in the seventh.

Huron also did a good job in the field during the first four innings as they gave up just three hits and a walk to keep the game scoreless.

Huron is now 9-20 on the season.
