HURON ó A strong second period helped the Mitchell Marlins to a 2-1 victory against the Huron All-Stars on Friday at Bergman Arena.

After falling behind 1-0 in the opening period, Mitchell gained the lead with two goals in the second period.

The first came on a power play goal by Jacob Cersosimo with Alex Thill assisting on the play.

Cersosimo put the Marlins ahead with his second goal of the game on an unassisted shot two minutes later. The 2-1 advantage held up for the victory.

Huron goalie Parker Hook had 25 saves.

The All-Stars will be back in action today with a 5:45 p.m. game in Sioux Falls.
