Posted: Wednesday, Dec 5th, 2012

SIOUX FALLS Goalie Erin Scheibe racked up 41 saves, including 25 in the final period, to help the Huron Lady All-Stars to a 7-2 victory against the Sioux Falls Flyers on Sunday.

Strong offensive play through the first two periods allowed the Huron goalie to play with a lead throughout the contest.

Jordan Miller had the lone goal of the opening period on a pass from Paige Small to give Huron a 1-0 lead heading into the second period.

The Lady All-Stars would then score the first three goals of the second period to increase their lead to 4-0.

Hope Goethel scored the first of her two unassisted goals in the period to make it 2-0 and Shelby Smoyer followed with a goal on a pass from Anna Scheibe. Goethel put the puck in the net to make it 4-0 before Sioux Falls was able to get on the board.

The Lady All-Stars added three unassisted goals in the final period, including a third by Goethel to earn the hat trick. Also scoring were Brook Tschetter and Small.

With Sunday's victory, Huron improved to 2-0. The Lady All-Stars will make their home debut Friday, with a 6 p.m. game against Aberdeen at Bergman Arena. The same two teams will meet again at 3 p.m Saturday at Bergman Arena.
