Hitchcock-Tulare teams record sweep against AC

TULARE — Hitchcock-Tulare’s Trent Hofer nearly put up a triple-double, as the Patriots defeated Aberdeen Christian 76-63 on Tuesday in their season opener.

Hofer finished with a game-high 27 points for Hitchcock-Tulare and had team-high totals of nine rebounds and nine assists.

Also reaching double figures in the scoring column for the Patriots were Clay Jens with 17 points and Landon Gatzke with 15 points on five 3-pointers.

Aberdeen Christian connected on 11 3-pointers, including four each by Matt Rohrbach and Tanner Droog, who finished with 18 and 14 points, respectively. Job Niewenhaus also had 14 points, while Sam Palmer added 13 points.

Hitchcock-Tulare returns to action on Thursday at Wessington Springs.

TULARE — Hitchcock-Tulare earned its first victory of the season with a 72-6 win against Aberdeen Christian on Tuesday.

Molly Koester had 13 points and seven rebounds to lead the Lady Patriots (1-2). Taylor Knippling had 10 points and had eight steals, while Shaylyn Steinheuser and Cassie Schultz added eight and seven points, respectively.

Cheyann Olson had five points to lead Aberdeen Christian.

Hitchcock-Tulare plays at Wessington Springs on Thursday.
