ABERDEEN — The Huron All-Stars defeated Aberdeen 6-2 on Saturday for a two-game sweep of the Cougars.
Dustin Wahlert scored an unassisted goal to open the scoring for the All-Stars in the first period, which ended at 1-1.
Huron then scored three unanswered goals in the second period. Scoring goals for the All-Stars were Paul Cramer, Taylor Sibson and Justin Davis.
Andy Reimer and Tanner Schnabel combined for the assist on Cramer’s goal, Cramer assisted on Sibson’s goal and Justin Ruedebusch and Beau Mandel assisted on Davis’ goal.
Ruedebusch capped the scoring with a pair of goals in the third period. Thorn Dramstad assisted on the first goal, with Mandel and Davis assisting on the second goal.
Parker Hook stopped 23 of the 25 shots he faced to earn the victory as the Huron goalie.
Ruedebusch scored his second goal in the third period to give Huron a 5-4 victory against Aberdeen on Friday.
Sibson opened the scoring for the All-Stars in the first period, with a goal on a pass from Cramer.
Huron then outscored Aberdeen 3-2 in the second period to carry a 4-3 lead into the final period.
Reimer had a pair of goals for the All-Stars on passes from Sibson and Wahlert. Ruedebusch had the final goal in the second period, as Davis and Dramstad combined for the assists.
Alec Sibson earned the win with 18 saves for the All-Stars.
Huron will travel to play Mitchell at 7 p.m. on Friday.
