Huron golfers second in SDGA event at BCGC

HURON — Kami Love and Nolan Wiegel of Huron both finished second in their respective divisions on Wednesday during the South Dakota Golf Association’s First Dakota National Bank Junior Golf Tourney event at Broadland Creek Golf Course.

Love turned in a score of 82 to finish behind Pierre’s Hallie Getz in the girls’ division for ages 16-18. Getz shot a 76.

Cassidy Entwisle of Huron was fourth in the girls’ division for ages 16-18 with an 86, while Taylor Flanery of Huron was sixth at 97.

Wiegel carded an 82 to finish one stroke behind Jonah Dohrer of Aberdeen, who won the boys’ division for ages 12-13.

Huron’s Sean Flanery was fifth in the boys’ division for ages 14-15 with a 108. J.J. Cooney of Lake Andes won the division with a 73.

Gabe Heller of Aberdeen won the boys’ division for ages 16-18 with an 81; Cassidy Bridges of Brookings won the girls’ division for ages 14-15 with a 108; Sydney Wirebaugh of Aberdeen also used a 108 to win the girls’ division for ages 12-13; and Landon Moe of Brookings had a 54 to win the boys’ division for ages 11-and-under.

A total of 44 golfers participated in the event.
