HURON — The field has been set for the Monster Truck event, which will be held in conjunction with a soccer demo derby during the South Dakota State Fair.

The final two trucks for the four-truck competition, which will be part of the program at 1 p.m. on Sept. 2 in the grandstands, are the Heartbreaker and Zombie Patrol. They will be joined by the Ghost Ryder and La Chica Loca trucks for the Labor Day event.

The Heartbreaker is driven by Kaila Savage of Milaca, Minn.

Savage, who has been driving monster trucks for five years, will be one of two female drivers in the field.

Zombie Patrol, which will be sporting its brand new design for 2013, will be driven by Jon Anderson.

Anderson has been working with monster trucks for seven years and is also in his fifth year of driving.

Larry and Shannon Quick of Aledo, Ill., will be returning to Dakota State Fair Speedway after being part of the last year’s event at the South Dakota State Fair.

Larry Quick is the driver for Ghost Ryder, while Shannon Quick powers the La Chica Loca truck.

Spectators can expect to see some high-flying, car crushing, truck-spinning stunts during this year’s event.

The soccer ball demo derby is the last craze to hit demolition derbies. Cars will be playing the game with a 500-pound ball.
