Collin Smith

HURON — Sixteen-year-old Collin Smith proved it was no fluke a week ago when he rolled his first 300 game and 800 series in the American Legion Rolls for Scholarships league at Fair City Lanes.

He repeated the accomplishments Sunday when he tossed his second 300 game and an 804 series in the same league. His scores on Oct. 13 were 300 and 824, which earned him United States Bowling Congress high-score recognition and awards.

Smith’s 824 was the highest youth series ever bowled in Huron and ranks 8th all-time among youth and adult bowlers on Huron lanes.

Brandon Dooley holds the all-time Huron record of 846 bowled at Riverview Lanes in 2008.
