The Wolsey-Wessington School held a 1-mile fun run Tuesday as part of its ING Run for Something Better program (RFSB).
The district is one of 50 recipients from 27 states to receive a grant up to $2,500 to inspire students to be more active and adopt healthy choices to carry into adulthood.
Physical education instructors Gordon Hooks and Greg Vincent will be overseeing the schools ING RFSB program for students in grades four through eight..
Presented by financial services leader ING U.S. in partnership with National Association for Sport and Physical Education, the program helps introduce students to the benefits of running and active lifestyles through school-based running programs.
The school received $1,000 immediately, with additional funds awarded based on participation in the program.
