Don’t miss out on hearing the beautiful Christmas harmonies of the Huron Symphony Orchestra and Huron Community Singers as they share their talents with the community this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Huron Fine Arts Center, located at 939 Ohio Ave. S.W.

The concert theme is “Home for the Holidays.” Tickets are available at the door. Ages 18 and under are free.

In it’s 56th year of existence, the Huron Symphony Orchestra began under the auspices of the Huron College music department. After Huron College closed, the Orchestra became an independent, non-profit entity. The Huron Symphony is currently under the direction of Dr. Robert Vodnoy. The 2012-2013 will be his third year as full-time conductor.

“This is an opportunity for people to take some time from their busy schedules to sit back, relax and reflect on the reason for the season,” said Pat Erickson, Huron Symphony Orchestra board member. “The concert has a festive Christmas mood and joining with the Huron Community Singers makes it such a special event,” she added.

Milo Pietz, director of the Huron Community Singers, said the Singers will perform a few selections of their own as well as several combined numbers with the symphony.

Don’t forget to bring the whole family to the concert on Friday to enjoy the talented musicians the Huron area has to offer.
