The Faulkton Area Arts Council will host its 23rd Annual Arts Show April 6-7 in the Faulkton Community Center (west side of school).
The show will be open to the public April 6 from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 7 from 1 to 5 p.m.
A critique session, open only to participating entrants, will be conducted April 6 at 10:30 a.m. Professional artists from outside the area will serve as judges.
Categories for the artists are oil paints, acrylic, graphic arts, watercolor, pastel, charcoal pen and ink, pencil, mixed media, wood cuts, scratchboard, etc.; photography, both black and white, and color; sculpture, leather craft, wood carving, fabric enhancement and needlework.
First-, second- and third-place ribbons will be awarded. Judges will also select a Best of Show for painting, photography, fabric enhancement and remaining entries. A Peoples’ Choice ribbon will be awarded in painting, photography, fabric enhancement and remaining entries for the favorite pieces selected by those in attendance.
An award of $25 will be given to both Best of Show and Peoples’ Choice winners.
Deadline for entering the “Hats Off to the Artists” art show is March 28. No late entries.
