The seventh week’s “I Made A Difference” award was presented to Judy Garbe, 3529 Dakota Ave. S. With her is Chet Coolbaugh, director of operations at Dakota Provisions. Garbe basically started with a clean pallet when she moved into her home. She painted the house and added trees, shrubs, perennials and annual flowers to make the yard bloom. She recently added a lovely deck to the back of her home and interesting features such as a pond in the backyard and decorative hanging basket holders, made of timbers, in the front. Garbe received a flag from the VFW Post 1776 Ladies Auxiliary, gift certificates from Lewis Drug, East River Nursery and Dakota Provision; and a gift from Runnings. The “I Made A Difference” program is sponsored by the Huron Community Improvement Committee.
