Kay LeAnn Anderson, 61, of Lake Preston died Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Arlington after a battle with leukemia and complications from a stem cell transplant.

Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lake Preston Lutheran Church with the Rev. Wanda McNeill officiating. Burial will be in East Bethania Cemetery near Erwin. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are with Osthus Funeral Home of De Smet.

Kay LeAnn Koch was born Nov. 17, 1948, at Lake Preston to Verna (Dahl) and Clair Koch. She grew up on a farm near Hetland. She graduated from Lake Preston High School in 1967.

She married Ronald Anderson Aug. 4, 1967, at Lake Preston. They lived in Brookings, moved to Huron in 1969 and in 1976 moved to Lake Preston. She was employed by the Lake Preston Co-op Association from 1978-2009 as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters, dancing and riding motorcycles with her husband. She was diagnosed with leukemia four years ago.

She is survived by her husband, Ron; four daughters, Kari Stevens of Aurora, Vikki (Steve) Hasche of Lake Preston, Tami (Patrick) Steffensen of Pierre and Jeani (Jesse) Vincent of Arlington; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Gary (Pat) of Sarasota, Fla., and Bruce (Trish) of Leesburg, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Larry.
