Norma Reese, 84, of Rapid City died unexpectedly Saturday, July 17, 2010, at home.

Her funeral will be in Black Hills National Cemetery Friday at 2 p.m. MDT.

Norma Barnes was born July 9, 1926, to Alfred and Ruby (Wysuph) Barnes at Wagner.

She married H.J. Reese in 1946. They lived in Huron where she worked as a secretary at local companies and at the county courthouse in Huron. They moved to Rapid City after retiring in 1985. She enjoyed gardening and interior design. She also had an unwavering commitment to the Democratic Party and its candidates. 

She is survived by two daughters, Trudy (Jody) Severson and Tracy (Rich) Downs; a son, Rod (Veronica Spencer); and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and three brothers, Rich, Rod and James.
