Georgia Voorhees, 92, of Wessington Springs died Friday, July 16, 2010, at Avera Weskota Memorial Medical Center in Wessington Springs.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Friedrich officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at the church today from 6 to 8 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
Georgia Schaller was born May 21, 1918, to George and Lucy (Romig) Schaller near Presho.
On June 21, 1936, she married Kenneth Voorhees at Wessington Springs. She worked in various business in Wessington Springs.
She is survived by seven children, Laural (Janet) of Woonsocket, Kathryn (Gary) Walton of Concordia, Kan., Kenneth (Lynn) of Norfork, Va., Roger (LeAnne) of Huron, Lester (Eva) of Mitchell, Jerry of Wessington Springs and Darla Kogel of Wessington Springs; 22 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons, June, Udell and James; a brother; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Stephen Kogel.
