IROQUOIS — Vera Walls, 89, of Iroquois, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at Avera De Smet Memorial Hospital.
Her service will be 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Iroquois with the Rev. Kris Larson officiating. Burial will follow in Restlawn Memory Gardens in Huron. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet.
Vera Geneen Morrison was born July 20, 1923, to Albert and Maude (Patten) Morrison at Carthage. She graduated from Carthage High School. On June 4, 1945, she married Lee Walls. They farmed east of Iroquois. She was active in the United Methodist Church throughout her life. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She is survived by her husband; four children, Virginia Delvaux of Vermillion, Alberta Moore (Dale Steffen) of White Lake, Leann Walls (Rick Bauer) of Brookings and Roger (Jean) of Iroquois; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Iona Gathman of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Rose McBride of South Charleston, W.Va.
