REDFIELD — Dorothy Mae Brueggemann, 86, of Redfield, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
Her funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Order Eastern Star Home in Redfield with the Rev. Stephen Perry officiating. After a time for fellowship and refreshments, burial will be in the Rockham Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Eastern Star Home. The family prefers memorials directed to the Eastern Star Home. Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield announced arrangements. Visit www.thelenfuneralhome.com.
Dorothy Kippel was born June 2, 1926, in Salina, Kan., to Ray and Marie (Hinkson) Kippel. She graduated from high school in Salina and was married and had three sons. She and her three sons lived in Kansas until 1962.
On June 3, 1962, she married Lynn Brueggemann in Natoma, Kan., and they lived in Rockham. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, making afghans and crafts. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, Russ Simon of Redfield; a granddaughter; and two sisters-in-law, Myrn (Robert) Therkildsen of Redfield and Floy Conkey of St. Lawrence.
