HURON — David J. Bouzek, 58, of Huron, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at home.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Kuhler Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Day officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, kuhlerfuneralhome.com.
David J. Bouzek was born Sept. 18, 1954, at Faulkton to Durwood and Arlene (Grover) Bouzek. He graduated from Highmore High School in 1972 and attended Lake Area Technical School in Watertown for two years majoring in farm and ranch management. He worked with his dad on the farm for several years.
In 1983 he moved to Pierre where he worked at Century Manufacturing for two years before moving to Huron to work at Swift’s Manufacturing. After the plant closed, he lived for 18 months in St. Lawrence before beginning work at Wal-Mart in Rapid City. He later transferred to the Wal-Mart in Huron. Some of his best days were spent fishing and telling stories.
He is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Kevin) Hutchinson of Huron; his parents of Rapid City; two brothers, Dan (Margaret) of Sparks, Nev., and Doyle (Sara) of Rapid City; two sisters, LeAnn (Joe) Knippling of Flandreau and Julie (Terry Stephens) of Sturgis; six nieces; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Brent; and a nephew.
