MILLER — Nova Palmer, 90, of Miller, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center of Miller.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Wessington. Burial will follow in Wessington Cemetery.
Nova Palmer was born March 19, 1922, at Chillicothe, Mo., to O.G. and Sybil (Kimbrough) Palmer. When he was 7 he moved to South Dakota. On Oct. 17, 1943, he married Irene Moller at Miller. They farmed in Hand County and Rose Hill Township. He was a member of Rose Hill Presbyterian Church and Wessington Presbyterian Church. He served on the Rose Hill Township Board.
He is survived by his wife; three children, Gary (Connie) of Pierre, Peggy (Mark) Scott of Wessington and Ray (Darlene) of St. Lawrence; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald (LaVerta) of Miller and Ken (Alma) of Sun City, Ariz.; and four stepsisters, Mrs. Don Shade, Mrs. Joe Nubsbaumer and Mrs. Jack Ehrich, all of Redfield, and Betty Shaffer of Aberdeen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother, Olga; four brothers, Omer, Vernon, Loren and John; three sisters, Fern, Ruby and Freda; and six stepbrothers.
Memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Wessington and the Good Samaritan Center of Miller.
