WESSINGTON SPRINGS — Roy Lumpkin rushed for 217 yards and five touchdowns to lead Wolsey-Wessington to a 40-0 victory against Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central on Friday.
The Warbirds, who improved to 5-1, led 12-0 at the half before putting up 28 points in the third quarter.
Lumpkin, who scored five of the six touchdowns for Wolsey-Wessington, scored on runs of 26, 72, 32, 31 and 12 yards.
Lorenzo Willaims had the other touchdown for the Warbirds on a 35-yard run.
Ryne Johnson added 104 yards rushing for Wolsey-Wessington on 16 carries.
Hayden Hooks and Alex Babcock had 13 and 10 tackles, respectively for the Warbirds defensively.
Todd Stekl was 7 of 17 passing for 29 yards for the Blackhawks. Jared Bechen had three carries for 24 yards.
Austin Messmer recorded 16 tackles for W/WS/SC, while Jacob Fouberg had 13 stops.
Hitch.-Tulare 52, Highmore-Harrold 0
TULARE — Dan Marshall threw for four touchdowns to lead Hitchcock-Tulare to a 52-0 victory against Highmore-Harrold on Friday.
Marshall opened the scoring with a 25-yard scoring strike to Trent Hofer. He added touchdowns with a 28-yard pass to Clay Jens, a 16-yard pass to Spruce Bushong and a 21-yard pass to Trevor Hofer.
Also scoring touchdowns for the Patriots, who led 46-0 at the half were Cole Chaplin, Austin Stahl, Boston Knippling and Chase Bixler.
Chaplin scored on a 6-yard run, while Stahl had a 20-yard punt return for a touchdown. Knippling scored on a 3-yard run and Bixler capped the scoring on an 11-yard run.
Marshall completed 10 of 13 passes for 156 yards, while Bixler was 2 for 2 for 30 yards through the air.
Bushong had three catches for 38 yards, while Jens finished with 58 yards on two catches and Trevor Hofer had 2 catches for 34 yards.
Marshall led the rushing attack with one carry for 40 yards for the Patriots. Knippling finished with 30 yards on six carries, while Chaplin had 26 yards on three carries.
Stahl had six tackles to lead Hitchcock-Tulare defensively, while Jens and Nic Hoezel each had four tackles. Trent Hofer had an interception and Eli Hofer had a fumble recovery.
Marshall McClould led Highmore-Harrold with 57 yards on nine carries. He also had five tackles along with Colton Reed.
