Irene A. Dillon, 76, of Howard, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.
Her funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bethany Lutheran Church with burial to follow in North Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Carthage.

Irene Ann Isaacson was born June 30, 1936, on the farmstead in rural Carthage to Theodore and Judith (Rostyne) Isaacson. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. The family moved to Denver, Colo., where she grew up, graduating from East High School in 1955.
She married Paul Dillon on Aug. 3, 1956, at Denver. They moved back the South Dakota where they owned and operated the Bluebird Café in Carthage. She then worked for the Good Samaritan Center in Howard and later PBM Corp. in Howard. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
She is survived by her mother, Judith Orvik of Howard; a son: Russell (Susan) Dillon of Carthage; a daughter, Carrie (Pat) Smith of Howard; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and step brother and sisters, Jack (Shirley) Hanson of Ariz., Jerry (Jen) Orvik, Gelaine (Ronda) Orvik, Earl (Jane) Orvik and Almrya Topp, all of North Dakota.
