HURON — Joyce Ilene Dubois, age 72, of Huron, formerly of Wolsey, SD, died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the SunQuest Health Care Center in Huron.

Joyce Ilene Curtis was born on February 28, 1940, to Frank and Hazel (Aldrich) Curtis on the family farm near Virgil, SD. She attended Curtis School, Virgil School, and Sand Creek School, and graduated from Wolsey High School in 1958. On October 16, 1958, Joyce married Donald Dubois at Wolsey, SD. The couple farmed and ranched in rural Wolsey all of their life. They raised and sold Polled Hereford cattle under the Curtis Polled Hereford name.
Joyce was a member of 4H and was a 4H leader for many years. She was also a member of the Neighborly Get Together Club and the Vernon Club. Joyce enjoyed cooking and baking, ceramics, painting, stitchery, and working with the 4H kids. She loved spending time with her family and friends and always made time to attend all of her children and grandchildren’s various activities.
Joyce is survived by one son, Kurt (Maureen) Dubois of Wolsey, SD; two daughters, Vicki (Steven) Neuharth of Wolsey, SD, and Darci (Kevin) Weeldreyer of Huron, SD; ten grandchildren, Eric (Tracee) Neuharth of Brookings, SD, Jason Neuharth of Wolsey, SD, Amanda (Andy) Chipman of Virgil, SD, Gena Dubois, of Mobridge, SD, Dana Dubois, of Huron, SD, Megan (Daniel) Pridie, of Mitchell, SD, and Katie Weeldreyer, of Madison, SD; three great-grandchildren, Mayssa and Jaxson Neuharth, and Abigail Chipman; sister, Carol (Larry) Gildemaster, of Virgil, SD; and brother-in-law, Everett (Bernie) Dubois, of Bainbridge Island, WA.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald in 2008; and one grandson, Benjamin Dubois.
