WESSINGTON — Margaret “Peggy” K. Christensen, 60, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Wessington Community Center. There will be a wake service Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the center. Visit thelenfuneralhome.com.
Margaret Kathryn Heim was born to Ignatius and Myrn (Sparling) Heim Nov. 24, 1951, at Faulkton. She attended St. Mary’s Catholic Boarding School at Zell and graduated from Cresbard High School in 1970.
She worked at Control Data Corporation in Aberdeen and married Larry Harmon from Chelsea Oct. 12, 1973. He was killed in a motorcycle accident Jan. 26, 1975, prior to the birth of their daughter. She worked at the Heim Buffalo Ranch.
She married John Christensen Jan. 8, 1983. They lived near Wessington and raised simmental cattle. They formed 3C Christensen Ranch and built a home on Liberty Hill.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters, NaLani (Rick) Dunsmore, Cam Christensen and Carly Christensen; three grandchildren; father-in-law, Lloyd Harmon of Aberdeen; three brothers, Merrill (Cindy), Leonard (Jeannie) and Nick (Eiko); a sister, Mary Ann Peterson; two sisters-in-law, Evie and Nyla (Jens); and a brother-in-law, Chris (Sheila).
She was preceded in death by a brother, Tony; her first husband; and parents-in-law, Thelda Harmon and Elisabeth and Jens Christensen.
