WATERTOWN — Greg Bratland, 51, died at Prairie Lakes Hospital Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, after suffering an apparent pulmonary embolism at home.
A memorial service will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Willow Lake with the Rev. Keith Garness officiating. Burial will follow in Collins Cemetery.
Gregory Nordeen Bratland was born July 18, 1961, at Huron to Norris and Marjorie (Staum) Bratland. At the age of 6 they moved to Huron where he went to school.
He worked for the Daily Plainsman in 1993 and 1994 as a route delivery person. After his father’s death in 1994, he moved in with his mother and in 1997 they moved to Watertown. He enrolled in the New Horizons program and worked at Jubilee Grocery, Dakota Tube and at New Horizons in the wood shop and the kitchen.
He enjoyed watching TV, especially sports, and talking about sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins. Pizza was his favorite food.
He is survived by three brothers, Gaylon (Carolyn) of Apple Valley, Minn., Randall (Sandra) of Custer and Norlyn (Donna) of Aberdeen; and eight nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Garald, in 1946.
