HURON — Kimothy Caldwell, 49, of Huron, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Welter Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided by the Huron Veterans Council. Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service. Visit welterfuneralhome.com.
Kimothy Jay Caldwell was born Dec. 2, 1962, at Chicago to Edward and Shirley (Jackson) Caldwell. When he was young, he was always willing to help the neighbors with mowing grass and scooping snow. They moved to Rapid City in 1975. He graduated from Sturgis Brown High School.
He joined the Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash. He was discharged in 1982 and moved back to Rapid City.
He moved to Huron in 2000 and joined the Bradfield-Leary Center. He loved to go camping and fishing and enjoyed music and writing. At Christmas time, he always made sure everyone he knew had a present.
He is survived by his mother of Rapid City; a brother, Anthony (Brenda) Moore El of Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Edie Caldwell of Chicago, Keanna Caldwell of Sioux Falls and Melanie Watkins of Spearfish; four nieces; and five nephews.
Kimothy was preceded in death his grandparents; his father; two infant bothers; and a niece.
